Quotes From This Episode

In medical device, there is a recipe and there are prescribed steps that you need to go through. And once you learn it and you pay attention to it, and you prioritize those things, a lot of the other noise kind of melts away in medical device.

Tom Looby

I’ve always liked to build the teams with the founders and the innovators, but then bring in other people or coach up other people to round out the management team because it’s going to take a team that has the wherewithal to do something that the world hasn’t seen before. And then also the patience and the steadiness to slog through the milestones as they are prescribed to you.

Tom Looby

You build great teams with imperfect people. And so, getting folks on the team that you trust, maybe you’ve worked with them before, maybe not, and creating an environment where people can make mistakes and then they know that the team will recover and will learn from that mistake, right? If you don’t have that kind of trust and and working relationship around the team, then it’s not as effective as if you do.
